Maleic anhydride is fundamental chemical intermediates often used in production of unsaturated polyester resins. It is also employed in coatings, pharmaceutics, insecticides, additives of oil products and plastics, surfactant.

　Recent years have witnessed a rapidly increasing demand for the raw materials for organic synthesis. Together with a 50,000 ton/year unit for continuous rectification, also the largest of its kind in China, the new production facility will largely upgrade related production technology.

　The operation over the past three months has shown that, in addition to high and stable quality of its products, the unit could cut the feedstock and energy consumptions by 10% and 60%, respectively, greatly improving the competitiveness of its product.
